UVic owns and manages a number of properties in the Victoria area, including approximately 25 commercial units and 45 residential units.

UVic has created a separate legal entity, University of Victoria Properties Investments Inc. (UVic Properties), to oversee a variety of real estate holdings in the region. On behalf of UVic, UVic Properties manages the Vancouver Island Technology Park, Marine Technology Centre and Dunsmuir Lodge Executive Training Centre.

The Vancouver Island Technology Park is home to 31 leading hi-tech firms, which contribute more than $280 million annually to BC’s economy. The Marine Technology Centre, adjacent to the Institute of Ocean Sciences (home to UVic’s VENUS project), houses seven oceans and marine-related firms. Dunsmuir Lodge, an executive training centre, welcomes more than 50,000 conference and dining guest from the local community each year.
