Admitted, what's next?
I've received an offer of admission by mail - what do I do next?
Congratulations!
- If you decide to accept your offer of admission, send the $200 acceptance deposit to Accounting Services as instructed in the Admission Summary section of your admission letter. Remember, the acceptance deposit is non-refundable and will be credited to your tuition account; it must be paid before you can register for courses. Please include your student number and session on the front of your cheque.
- If you want to live on campus and haven't already applied for on-campus housing, be sure to apply right away.
- Registration begins at the end of June. A registration package will be sent to you in May with further instructions. Once you have been admitted you can sign up for your UVic Netlink account. Your Netlink ID will give you access to uSource where you will register for classes. Your registration date and time will only be available through uSource, so you must set up a Netlink ID.
- All students enrolling in UVic must complete a first year English course (1.5 units). You will not be permitted to register in English courses until a placement result is known. Review the English language requirement.
- Get academic advice. Our academic advisors are available to help you plan your degree and to ensure that you meet program requirements.
- Don't forget to think about joining the Co-operative Education Program (most students apply or are admitted in their second year). Be sure to also take advantage of the many services and facilities UVic has to offer.
- Once you have been admitted to UVic and have chosen your course of study, your next step is to review Registration and Timetable information before using the steps to registering as an undergraduate student.
- Tuition for first term courses is due at the end of September. See the Accounting Services site for more information.
