Tips on using this site

The main Uvic.ca has a number of features to help you navigate through the site faster.

Setting font size

In most new browsers, you can change the font size by pressing CTRL and scrolling the scrollwheel on your mouse. In other browsers, font size can be set through a menu (View > Text size). Tip: In Netscape and Mozilla you can return to the default font size by pressing Ctrl-0.

Access keys

Access keys are shortcut keys assigned to important links. List of access keys.

Site navigation toolbar

Mozilla browsers have a site navigation toolbar (Firefox users can download the toolbar as an extension). This site has quick links to the home page and the section home page. Under document there are links to the A-Z Index. Under more there are links to this page (help), search, copyright, and author information.

Dropdown menus

The dropdown menus from the yellow bar provide shortcuts to frequently used Web pages. The dropdown menus work in all newer browsers. Visitors with older browsers can access the pages through the main menus on the yellow bar.
